HIKING AND EASY ROCK CLIMBING ON SUGARLOAF MOUNTAIN

Sugarloaf Mountain is one of the postcard images of Rio de Janeiro and of Brazil, where ascending the mountain naturally is a privilege enjoyed by few, and it's our mission to help these privileged few enjoy this activity with total security and responsibility, guided by professional climbing instructors and mountain guides.

The trail is very pleasant with incredibly beautiful views. During part of the trail it's common to use your hands, gripping roots and rocks, and in another section of the trail it's necessary to climb about 15 meters of rock formations.  It's not difficult but the use of proper climbing equipment is fundamental for total security. The trail reaches the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, where we'll take the cable car down to another light trail, included in the price of this itinerary.

HIKING TO PEDRA DA GAVEA (GAVEA STONE)

Located in the Tijuca National Park, the classic Pedra da Gavea (Gavea Stone) is the largest coastal monolith on the planet, and it's certainly one of the most beautiful trails of all Rio de Janeiro. This trail is difficult, with a duration of approximately 5 to 7 hours (ascent and descent).

The trail is very pleasant with a good part being in the shade before reaching the "praça da bandeira" (flag square), a point where other trails converge. From there on, the trail is more open and offers an incredible view of Barra da Tijuca.
The most difficult stretch of the trail is a type of easy rock climbing known as the "carrasqueira." Despite the low difficulty factor, it's important to use proper security equipment.
Reaching the top of the mountain at an altitude of 844 meters, we have a broad view of Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the city and the Barra da Tijuca beaches, the Corcovado mountain (the home of the Christ the Redeemer Statue), the Two Brothers mountains, the neighboring city of Jacarepaguá, the São Conrado beach, and more.

HIKING TO THE SECRET WATERFALL

The "Secret Waterfall" is one of the largest and most beautiful in the whole state of Rio de Janeiro. Located at “Baixada Fluminense”, it offers extraordinary sites for diving and a gorgeous Waterfall (110meters high).
The trail is light and pleasant, lasting approximately 1 hour, passing by rustic constructions made of mud and bamboo; typical trees and tropical fruit like banana, cocoa and aipim (a species of tuber) can also be seen on this trip.
A Peaceful place, a unique opportunity to get in touch with nature and take great pictures. To top it off with “glamour”, you will be able to get a taste of typical ‘’Brazilian Cuisine”, with typical dishes prepared by local people.

BONITA ROCK AND FLIGHT RAMP

The Pedra Bonita trail, located in Tijuca National Park, is one of the lightest and most beautiful trails in the park. Perfect for beginners in this sport, it is only 1,250 meters long and the top is really magnificent, allowing a privileged view overlooking the Pedra da Gavea and also the São Conrado neighborhood, the Dois Irmãos hill, Ipanema and Barra da Tijuca.
On the way back, we will stop by the hang-gliding and paragliding flight ramp, which allows a wonderful view. It is also possible to see the riders take off. For those who also wish to fly we can arrange double flights with professional flight instructors, landing on São Conrado beach. The rest of the group will drive down along with the guides to the São Conrado beach, where the groups will get together to go back to the hostel / hotel.

HIKING ON CORCOVADO - CHRIST THE REDEEMER STATUE

Corcovado is one of the most famous mountains in the world. With an altitude of 704m, it has the Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the seven wonders of the world, on its summit. The Corcovado trail is one of the most classic and beautiful trails in Rio de Janeiro. Being able to reach the summit of this mountain by its own natural resources is a privilege for few. This trail is considered heavy, due to its steep slope, and hand support is needed in some sections.
It starts at Lage Park, a beautiful environmental reserve located in Jardim Botanico, and heads towards the Corcovado Mountain, as far as the railway tracks, where we will then walk up the street toward the mountaintop. Those who wish to visit the monument should have the ticket at hand, otherwise they will have to go down the street (there is transportation) to the ticket counter and buy it, then go up again as far as the Christ the Redeemer statue. The
return trip is made by the same path on the trail.

JUNGLE TOUR IN TIJUCA NATIONAL PARK

The Jungle Tour is a drive through the Tijuca Forest, featuring the most classic spots of the park. Departing from Zona Sul we will stop by a few main spots of the park, where there will always be 20-30 minute breaks for contemplation and a brief history of the place. The first stop is at the Botanic Garden, then we will proceed to Vista Chinesa, Mesa do Imperador, Cascatinha Taunay and the Visitor Center, where you will be able to see the model of the entire park, including the classic trails and all the peaks. After this stop we will head to Mirante do Archer and immediately afterwards to the Caverna dos Morcegos, where we will take a 15 minute walk. After this pleasant walk we will take a 1 ½ hour break for lunch at Restaurante dos Esquilos, then proceed on our tour to the Mirante da Estrada das Canoas and finally to São Conrado beach, where we will be able to appreciate the sea ​​and mountain view. Another good option is to make a brief visit to the São Conrado hang-gliding and paragliding runway. Then come back to the Hostel / Hotel.
